12 Middle Part Styles That Compliment Any Face Shape

curly hair middle part

If you decide to style your hair with a center part, you can create a lived-in look with curled ends. The drawback is that the style has evolved to a trendier style, but the pro is that it’s this era’s timeless style. There’s nothing more powerful than a jet black lob with a part in the middle. A lob is one of those things that always stay in style. Ask for a soft black if you want a little more reflect, or you can add blue to your color formula for more depth. If your hair is finer, keeping the layering light is important.

How do you get a perfect middle part?

Whether your natural hair color is dark or light, a balayage of dark pink is going to be gorgeous. Leave your hair natural with beachy waves or make it sleek with straightened tresses. The beautiful drama that the bob cut creates compliments well with a center part.

Waved Chin Bob

Leave the braids loose to curl up naturally with a middle part for a carefree appeal. Here is another middle parted curly hair look for those women who are bored of their natural black tresses. It’s a perfect way to change up your entire look when you want to dress up from your everyday look. To get a necessary shape, use a hair gel, hold the sides down with hair clips and let it air dry in this position.

#6: Light Brown to Blonde Ombre

Ultimately, the best way to determine whether or not a middle parting suits you is to try it out. Experiment with different partings to see which one looks best on you. And if you’re not sure, ask a friend for their opinion. If you follow these tips, you should be able to separate your curls without creating frizz. If you have a lot of hair, you may find it helpful to use a hair clip to keep your hair in place while you’re parting it.

Grab your large foam rollers and glide them up your hair to the ends, gently roll down to the scalp and secure with a clip. Run your fingers through and apply a light hold texture spray. You can easily update any length or cut with just a subtle change, such as switching where you part your hair. It's universally flattering and able to be styled in many different ways. Whether your headed to the salon and want inspiration or looking to change up your day to day style, here 12 middle part hairstyles you’ll love. Defined curly hairstyles are easier to maintain regardless of the length.

Slicked-Back Low Ponytail

This short and choppy crop is a great everyday look but still is glamorous in its own right. The cute relaxed fringe, paired with the blunt length and haphazard center part makes for an uncomplicated and naturally beautiful hairstyle. Look like an ethereal goddess by trimming your long curly hair in subtle layers. Flaunt those coils with confidence by leaving them free to sway with the wind. This simple yet dreamy style will surely turn around many heads.

The easiest way to give your hair some extra volume is by flipping your part over to the opposite side. By flipping your hair over and having it fall in the opposite direction than it usually does, you’ll add instant volume and lift. Dabble in the world of retro accessories with a printed silk scarf headband. Make a middle part pop even more with a crisp cut featuring sharp, blunt ends. One of our favorite lengths is a bob that hits just below the chin.

Finger Waves

"There is natural fullness due to the layers and the shaping of the cut but without the forced fullness from spray and product." Face-framing layers are super flattering on a middle part, especially when paired with short curly layers. To achieve this look, begin with freshly washed hair and apply your styling products while parting your hair. I like to begin at the crown, and then create and style horizontal sections moving forward towards my hairline. Another runway look, seen at the Spring 2022 Anna Sui show. First, peep the two-piece strands framing the model's face.

This effortless style perfectly suits a summer party or festival. (Plus, your bone structure will really shine.) To make it even funkier, secure with a chic, elevated scrunchie like Lupita Nyong'o did on the red carpet. The beauty of this hairstyle is how easily you can dress it up or down, depending on the event.

A center part is all you need to add for statement style and quick styling in general. You should do something to make your thin hair look voluminous. Try bob cut this time, and you can convert it into a wavy look by lightly curling your hair. A middle part is one of the most classy and low maintenance hairstyling options. Not only does it work for any hair type and length, it also complements any symmetry your face has.

Part your hair on the side, gather a small piece from the front of your hairline, and twist it back. Pin it in place with two crisscrossed bobby pins, and hide the pins underneath a back layer of hair. If you're a former side-parter, you might find that your hair is resistant to change. To force a new part, Sally Hershberger, a hairstylist in New York City, recommends parting the hair straight out of the shower to help it dry in place. For the gals who love something short, simple, but still stylish, a slightly angled bob offers all of the above.

Let the wavy hair flow with a sleek and soft bun in the back. The beautiful loose braids can complement perfectly to give a romantic look. Older women’s hair typically gets thinner as they age. You can disguise that by combing in a center part and using hair product to shape soft waves or curls for texture.

You can essentially create a gorgeous look that could frame your whole face. Even medium, thick, and wavy hairs can result in a dazzling look with a center part hairstyle. With medium hair lengths, center parting with waves will give the perfect, graceful look.

Specifically, Gen Z versus millennials, with Gen Z arguing that, with respect, the middle part is supreme to the side part. Now I am not biased at all, it’s not like I spent high school with a permanent middle part trying to “train” my hair to fall into a side part, but I digress. This is a beautifully glamorous middle parted curly hair look that pairs natural curls with a structured half-updo half down. Straightening the front section either side of the mid part makes for a very sleek, sophisticated and dazzling look.

Keep reading to learn all about the latest hairstyle craze. Yara Shahidi's slicked-back ponytail is similar to the high pony from look #19, only it sits lower on the back of the neck. Slick back the hair at the crown of your head with gel, brush through, and leave the rest loose and curly. Affix with bobby pins or an elastic to keep the style in place. You can also diffuse your medium length curly hair if you’re in a rush.

Are you feeling like rocking your natural hair color but want to switch things up? Remember that a beautiful medium-brown hair color can range from warm to rich in tone. That will help you pick a color that compliments your complexion. If you are in between options with some inspirational photos, they should be able to get the best hue for you.

20 Trendy Middle Part Hairstyles to Wear in 2024

This style is neat and simple but looks chic on casual days. Hat hairstyles are the fun and showy way to style long hair and make perfect fall hairstyles. Have your hair completely styled and in place before adding a hat. Tilt the hat back slightly to ensure you can still see your middle part. This will create a laid-back style that still highlights your face shape.

Waved Chin Bob

If your hair is generally straight, you will need to put a little effort into giving it body and texture. I also like using a sea salt spray to give it extra texture. While most curly-haired women opt for a layered haircut, there is something to be said for an even-length style. This mid-length naturally curly look is chic and mature in the best way and we love how it looks with a few strategic highlights. Secure your ponytail on the top of your head with a hair tie, and use your fingers to pull the curls apart for maximum impact.

#9: Long Sleek Slob Haircut

Wearing it parted down the middle is great for women with an oval or heart-shaped face. This blunt cut with a middle parting is very simple and can be worn with a natural air-dried look, straight and sleek, or loose beach curls. The layers starting at the jaw draw the eyes to the lips and create a soft and charming effect.

Breezy Long Layers

Multiple ponytails, braids, twists, along with a creative styling of the edges is all you need to go from Sunday fun day to Friday night happy hour. A half up half down hairstyle like this is also a great way to feature your hair length while bringing the strands away from your face. Are you looking to bring your limp hair back to life and rock a style with your hair parted in the middle? Ask your stylist if a jaw-length bob will suit your face shape. This length will accentuate a strong jawline and bring attention to your face.

From there, a middle part makes it easy to keep the body of your curls balanced and equally dispersed. You may consider this a tamed version of the curly weave with a middle part. While this gives a wet look, it also shines differently. First, apply a rich mix of smoothing oil to the middle. Space buns look fun and are an ideal way to keep those curls away from the face.

As natural as it looks, it does require a bit of manipulation. Use hair products or blow-dry or comb your hair in the right direction. The universal rule is to brush all your hair in front of the ears and bang the area forward, towards your face. You will want to do this while your hair is still slightly wet so that it sets your style once it fully dries.

Thirdly, if you have a round face, you may want to part your hair on the side. This will help to elongate your face and create a more oval-like appearance. First of all, if you have a lot of volume in your hair, you may want to part it on the side. This will help to control the volume and create a more streamlined look. When paired with subtle makeup, the style is appropriate for every time of the year. This smooth, cool bob will keep you looking extra sharp.

Long Bangs

One of the most sought-after blondes is a soft-rooted color melt. The best option for low-maintenance blonding is to diffuse lines of demarcation. Your first session will be all over blonde highlights. And tipping out the ends will give you brightness when between maintenance sessions.

If you’re not sure if a middle part is right for you, experiment with a few different looks and see what you like best. Ladies with thick hair will enjoy the ease of the length because it will not weigh them down. In addition, you can wear it wet or dry, locking in the moisture.

Platinum hair color is bold and striking when paired with a medium-length hairstyle. This hair color works best for those with fair or olive skin tones. It suits hair that is naturally straight or has a slight wave.

After creating waves with a flat iron, cocktail a pomade with oil. Work it really well through your hands, then apply by starting at the ends and working your way up to the part. Gently smooth the part and work down around the face, especially if you have a money piece. Shake it up by moving side to side to give this a lived-in glow.

For products, use a texture spray to give a modern finish. Trim your lengthy hair to keep it healthy, and add a layered style for a subtle lift. Note that if you style your hair with a curling iron and a heat protectant, it will become shiny and smooth. Remember to apply a light hairspray, both before and after combing, for excellent hold. In case you have thick and straight hair, there you’re in for a treat for mid part hairstyles.

First, section out the front two pieces of your hair and clip them away. Next, put the rest of your hair in a ponytail and secure it, then release the front two pieces. Gently curl the front and the ponytail ends to make it more dressy.

Young ladies can flaunt this effortless hair look while going to school. A half-up, half-down with a mid-part is a timeless, romantic hairstyle that’s easy to achieve. This is for brides or ladies attending special events.

After the blowout, create your center part, then apply your favorite heat protectant. Lightly tease the sides to ensure a long-lasting style all day. You can try a hairstyle with a middle part when you want a simple but clean-cut look that can be sleek or textured. When it comes time to try a new style, opt for a middle part for an exciting change; it can instantly change your look. If you’re worried a center part will drag you down, try adding curtain fringe or framing to soften it.

She might not have invented being blonde, but she sure knows how to perfect it. Emmy-winning actress Dove Cameron opted for a more mature blonde, ditching the platinum for this gorgeous wavy pale ash shade. Even back in 2019, the middle part was a statement-maker. About Congressman Hakeem Jeffries

minority leader of the us house of representatives

Andy Eichar, communications director for Jeffries’s office, told Al Jazeera over email that Jeffries has worked across the aisle to champion criminal justice reform and that he would protect healthcare from “right-wing attacks”. Jeffries thanked Pelosi in his speech on Wednesday, calling her an “extraordinary Speaker for the ages who has delivered so much for so many over such a significant period of time”. Jeffries has become the first Black politician to lead a party in the US Congress, succeeding Representative Nancy Pelosi.

Mike Johnson and the troubled history of recent Republican speakers

On Saturday morning, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries officially made history as the first African American to lead a major party in Congress. On Wednesday, Representative David Cicilline of Rhode Island, who is gay, said he planned to challenge Mr. Clyburn for the position of assistant leader. Though Pelosi will remain in Congress, she promised not to be the “mother-in-law in the kitchen”. Asked if the continued presence of Pelosi, Hoyer and Clyburn might be a burden, Jeffries said the new leaders felt honored to “stand on their shoulders”. Jeffries is a former lawyer who represents a diverse district in Brooklyn and Queens once represented by Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman to serve in Congress. He is known on Capitol Hill as a disciplined tactician with a measured style and a penchant for pop culture references.

But Greene has yet to make the motion "privileged," which under the rules would necessitate a vote within two days. Under the Articles of Confederation, the Congress of the Confederation was a unicameral body with equal representation for each state, any of which could veto most actions. After eight years of a more limited confederal government under the Articles, numerous political leaders such as James Madison and Alexander Hamilton initiated the Constitutional Convention in 1787, which received the Confederation Congress's sanction to "amend the Articles of Confederation". Scalise, 57, is a Louisiana native who was elected to the No 2 spot by voice vote, a sign of his broad support in the House Republican conference. Should McCarthy fall short in his quest to become speaker, Scalise has been mentioned as a potential alternative. After completing law school, Rep. Jeffries clerked for the Honorable Harold Baer Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

What is the GOP House majority after the special elections?

minority leader of the us house of representatives

Now, in a historical first, the triumvirate of top House Democrats includes no white men. Washington, DC – Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries held a press conference where he highlighted that House Democrats will continue to defend every American's freedom and protect our national security while extreme MAGA Republicans continue to try to turn back the clock. Jeffries will square off against Republican House Leader Kevin McCarthy, a representative from California who has positioned himself as a steadfast ally of former President Donald Trump. McCarthy will become House Speaker when the new Republican-majority House convenes in January. Congressman Jeffries obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York at Binghamton, where he graduated with honors for outstanding academic achievement. He then received his master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University.

Political career

Democrats will cede control of the House in January, after midterm elections in which Republicans performed less well than expected but still took the lower chamber. Democrats gained control of the White House and majorities in both branches of the US Congress in 2020. But Republicans won a majority of seats in the House during the recent midterm elections, with new members set to be sworn in on January 3.

Assistant party leaders

Those on the left often wanted bolder policy proposals and more generous federal spending, while centrists argued for positions they maintained were more in step with voters in purple districts they represented and helped the party regain the majority in 2018. Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., who is 82 and has served in party leadership, said Tuesday night the shift taking place with the current slate of leaders stepping aside to make way for a new generation has been in the works for several years. Jeffries has emerged as a new and fresh voice of opposition to Republicans after former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who shepherded House Democrats for nearly 30 years, stepped down from party leadership. Democrats tell theGrio that they are ready to resist the Republican agenda and will lay the groundwork for their opportunity to reclaim power in the House. The seamless elevation of a new generation of leaders came in stark contrast to the fractured House Republican conference, which has yet to unite around Kevin McCarthy after the weaker-than-expected midterms win. With only a few votes to spare, McCarthy is attempting to shore up enough support to become speaker.

minority leader of the us house of representatives

Securing broad support, Jeffries easily won the race to represent New York’s 8th congressional district, which includes parts of Brooklyn and the neighbouring borough of Queens. After taking office in 2013, he took particular interest in police and criminal justice reform. He introduced legislation calling for a federal ban on the police use of choke holds following the death of an unarmed Black man, Eric Garner, in July 2014. Garner had died after having a choke hold applied to him during his arrest on Staten Island. Jeffries also championed the First Step Act, which was signed into law in 2018. It aimed in part to improve conditions in federal prisons and to ensure that people convicted of federal crimes were sentenced in a fair and reasonable way.

House Democrats elect Hakeem Jeffries as first Black leader in Congress

Jeffries was one of seven lawmakers named by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to serve as impeachment managers during the trial and present the House’s case against Trump. The appointment reflected the fact that Jeffries was an effective messenger, especially known for being highly quotable. Delivering part of the House managers’ closing arguments on February 3, he called for Trump’s removal from office, describing him as “a clear and present danger to our national security.” Two days later, however, Trump was acquitted by the Senate in an almost party-line vote. Like the Speaker of the House, the Minority Leaders are typically experienced lawmakers when they win election to this position. When Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, became Minority Leader in the 108th Congress, she had served in the House nearly 20 years and had served as minority whip in the 107th Congress. Gephardt's predecessor in the minority leadership position was Robert Michel, R-IL, who became GOP Leader in 1981 after spending 24 years in the House.

There's been a history of hard landings

But the real test will come on the House floor, where he will need the support of nearly every member of his caucus to become speaker. Elected to Congress in 2006, McCarthy was part of a triumvirate of self-styled Republican “Young Guns” (along with Eric Cantor and Paul Ryan, neither of whom is currently in Congress) who rode the Tea Party wave to power. Republicans’ romping success in the 2010 midterms catapulted McCarthy into one of the top leadership positions, House majority whip. Jeffries said he has an "open mind" in terms of his relationship with the top House Republican, Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who was nominated to serve as the speaker. McCarthy is still working to secure the votes he needs to be elected by the full House. Jeffries said he has more experience with the incoming majority leader, Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., and said he would look for areas of common ground.

With the Republicans holding a majority of seats and the Democrats holding a minority, the current leaders are Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana and Majority Whip Tom Emmer of Minnesota, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York, and Minority Whip Katherine Clark of Massachusetts. In February, former New York Rep. George Santos's seat was flipped by Democrat Tom Suozzi after he was expelled from Congress last year for misusing campaign funds. Former Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher's resignation this month also set Republicans back as an election to fill his seat won't be held until November due to the timing of his resignation at Wisconsin election laws. New York Democrat Tim Kennedy's victory in a special House election Tuesday night to fill a vacancy left by a retiring representative further narrowed the GOP's already slim majority in the House. The list of the 10 speakers who served in the job longest includes just one Republican (and in the ninth slot at that). That speaker was Joseph G. Cannon of Illinois, notorious as the autocratic "Czar Cannon" during three two-year tours as speaker that ended with his party's historic defeat in 1910.

Thereafter, Rep. Jeffries attended New York University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and served on Law Review. Rep. Jeffries has been actively involved in the passage of a number of other key pieces of legislation, including the Disaster Relief Appropriations Act of 2013 (H.R. 152), a bill that provides billions of dollars in Superstorm Sandy recovery to the Eighth District and other affected areas. The Congressman also sponsored — and passed as part of the National Defense Authorization package — the Prison Ship Martyrs’ Monument Preservation Act, which directs the U.S. Secretary of the Interior to study the feasibility of designating the Prison Ship Martyrs’ mausoleum in Brooklyn as a national monument. Consisting of a 100-foot-wide granite staircase and a central Doric column 149 feet in height, the monument in Fort Greene Park houses the remains of 11,500 Revolutionary War soldiers who were kept as prisoners of war by the British.

FRAME Deploys NewStore Omnichannel Platform to Power the Brand's Modern Retail Experience

Let’s take a look at the history of design thinking, decade by decade, and see how the story unfolds from this point onwards. "With enterprise-wide access to inventory and the right technology in place, FRAME is offering the direct-to-consumer experience that is required to win in retail today. This is critical as they grow the business." She goes on to ‘create’ the footbridge over Avenue du President Kennedy near Passy station (where the workshop entrance was filmed), and they ascend to the double-decker Pont de Bir Hakeim. Here Ariadne is given a serious warning about the dangers of creating places based on real memories after Cobb’s unconscious mind recognises the bridge and and allows a projection of his deceased wife, Mal (Marion Cotillard), to intrude. It appears that Cobb is an ‘extractor’, having learned the ability to enter people’s dreams and extract content.

Entertainment & Media Overview

For example, if we pick 5x5 convolutions, we end up with a fair number of parameters, there are a lot more multiplications involved, and they need a lot of parameters and are very slow, but on the other hand, it is very expressive. But if we pick 1x1 convolutions, it is much faster and does not need much memory, but maybe it does not work so well. Keeping these questions in mind, a brilliant idea was proposed in the Google LeNet paper — why not just pick them all, and stack them up in various convolutional blocks. It is also called the Inception paper, based on the movie Inception, and its famous dialogue — ‘we need to go deeper’. A more direct explanation has to do with the basic requirements of movie storytelling. If there’s one way in which Nolan is obsessed with breaking new ground, it’s with the film’s dizzying narrative structure.

Well, consider the wording “how might we…”; it suggests that a solution is possible, but doesn’t give any hints as to what that solution might be. You have enough of a focal point to guide your ideas, but plenty of freedom to think laterally and innovatively. Move away from the usual setting, be it the boardroom or your desk, and hold your session somewhere completely new. A new environment introduces new stimuli, which in turn can help to trigger fresh ways of thinking. For the sake of innovation and creativity, it is essential that the ideation phase is a judgment-free zone.

Affinity Diagrams: How to Cluster Your Ideas and Reveal Insights

The ideas discussed in his book ultimately underpin the design thinking methodology we use today. An Inception is a collaborative design process for a group of stakeholders to share the same understanding about an upcoming project. It is an activity focusing more on “why we do it” rather than “how we do it”. The methods of conducting an inception continually evolve as we face different situations with each client. A good Inception practitioner should always be thinking about improving the methodology. In this article, I will detail our Inception experience at Technovation and discuss three improvements we made.

Suddenly and without explanation, Cobb and Ariadne are sitting outside a Parisian café, as Cobb demonstrates to her that they are able to “share” a dream. When Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) arrives at Cobb’s workshop, there’s a neat little cheat. This really is Paris, but the studded metal doorway is a private works entrance to Passy Métro Station on Square Alboni. Against the better judgement of others, Cobb begins to consider the risky proposition of planting an idea in the mind of Robert Fischer (Cillian Murphy), the heir to a multibillion-dollar oil company. It opens with nothing in the way of explanation, as Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is washed up on the shore beneath a ‘Japanese’ castle. In fact, the castle was added digitally and the shoreline is Abalone Cove Shoreline Park, part of Abalone Cove Ecological Reserve at 5970 Palos Verdes Drive South, Rancho Palos Verdes, on the Pacific coast south of Los Angeles.

Lean Inception with a defined budget and deadline

Instead, the Titans -- who own the franchise history and thus, the right to wear the throwbacks -- have donned Oilers uniforms on occasion over the last 15 years, including in 2023. "While we pride ourselves on providing an excellent customer experience, we're always looking for ways to enhance our shopping journey by blending our online and offline channels in a friction-free way," said Jens Grede, Co-founder, FRAME. "NewStore is enabling us to optimize our growing business with omnichannel capabilities that scale and create an even more personalized shopping experience." The ‘dream city’ is again Downtown Los Angeles, but the modern developments just to the north in the Civic Center area.

What is Design Thinking and Why Is It So Popular?

As a group, you’ll then go through these assumptions and discuss whether they are really true, or if they’re simply there because they’ve never been questioned. An analogy provides a comparison between one thing and another, serving as a means of explanation or clarification. The analogy technique compares your situation—or design challenge—to something you are familiar with, enabling you to look at the problem in a new light and consider possible solutions. As a designer, the ideation phase is your safe space in which to come up with novel, perhaps unconventional, ideas.

During this time we understand the key features and customers for the product, and build a canvas to formulate the characteristics of a Minimum Viable Product. If you’re planning an ideation session or workshop, it’s important to set the right tone. Before we delve into specific ideation techniques, let’s consider how you can prepare for a successful ideation session. You’ll also find some useful tips in the below video showing you how to run a design thinking workshop. Now, it’s important to remember that Design Thinking is not a strictly linear process. However, the insights and outcomes that come from the Empathise and Define stages (getting to know your users and setting out a clear problem statement) will guide and inform a productive ideation session.

Get Inspired Weekly

Gamifying classic ideation methods adds an extra element of engagement and interactivity—and helps to suspend some of the normal “rules” of everyday life. Instead of verbally sharing ideas, participants write down their ideas before passing them on to someone else. The next person reads these ideas and adds their own, and so the process continues until each person’s ideas have done a full rotation. The bodystorming technique gets you to physically experience a situation in order to spark new ideas.

Las Vegas, with a metro area population of nearly 3 million, is one of the largest cities in the country without an art museum. Instead, we get an odd, desultory cross between downtown Los Angeles circa 1965 and the urban-planning fantasies of the French Modernist architect Le Corbusier. The best ideation sessions are those where the participants feel at ease.

design inception

The last mission’s architect failed and betrayed Cobb and his team and so Cobb is in desperate need of a new skilled architect. He turns to his father-in-law, a professor teaching at a university’s school of architecture in Paris whom he asks for help. Cobb’s father-in-law introduces him to one of his architecture students, Ariadne (Ellen Page). But before he recruits her as the new mission’s architect, Cobb wants to assess her skills first.

Over the course of thousands of years in architecture’s rich history, the labyrinth took shape in all forms, sizes, and uses, from Roman mosaic tiling, to Gothic pavement patterns, to Baroque hedge mazes. And although the labyrinth is one of architecture’s oldest archetypal structures, in contemporary culture it is most widely implemented in game design. It is no coincidence that the heist in ‘Inception’ is developed in levels similar to a classic video game, arranged in a linear structure from level one to level three. And it is Ariadne’s job as the architect to design all these dream levels which feature a city center, a business hotel, and a hospital fortress, each of them organized as a labyrinth respectively. When deciding which ideation techniques to use, think about the nature of your design problem, as well as the people taking part in the ideation session. Ideation sessions will help you to focus on your users (as any good designer should!); to accumulate the unique perspectives and creativity of different people, ensure diversity of ideas.

Not only is the resulting palette well balanced but also very versatile as you can easily add in any accent color later. Taormina is also known for its exquisite Greco-Roman amphitheater, with sweeping sea views and a backdrop of the brooding peak of Etna. Attractions will be quieter in spring and autumn during the shoulder months, but you’ll get the best weather (both for exploring ports and relaxing with a cocktail on deck) in July and August. It also includes roundtrip transportation so you don’t have to worry about how to get home afterwards. Sofia does pub crawls a bit differently than other cities and that’s why we love to recommend them to visitors.

The duration and cruise line — among other factors — will have a big influence on the price. If you’re looking to save money, consider choosing a shorter cruise and adding time at the end — you can base yourself on an island and catch a Blue Star ferry to see others. Sofia has a few rooftop bars that are worth visiting if you are looking for something different to do in Sofia at night.

Our favorite rooftop bar in Sofia is on the 9th floor of the Sense Hotel, because it has a stunning view of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral but also because it has delicious cocktails and a great selection of Bulgarian wines. Sofia has a vibrant nightlife scene and there are a number of fun and low-key clubs in the city. While it doesn’t have the same buzzy nightlife scene as some of its neighboring Balkan cities like Bucharest and Belgrade (which literally has one of the best nightlife scenes on the planet), it’s still incredibly fun. If you’re looking for something a little more special, this private dinner & night city tour may be just the thing for your special night out in Sofia. One of the great things about Bulgaria is how well preserved its traditions are, especially when it comes to traditional food, dress, and dance.

Ponant's Pearls of the Caribbean Cruise

Marella is the only cruise line to have a partnership with Champneys, so make time on board for the spa. SeaDream’s petite, 112-passenger ships are as close as you’ll get to a private yacht, with stupendously good food, all-inclusive drinks and personal, intuitive service. Embrace the yachtie lifestyle, whether it’s plunging off the back of the ship into the sparkling blue Aegean sea or lounging by the pool while a waiter tops up your champagne.

Hit the clubs and enjoy Sofia nightlife

As well as round-trip cruises from Athens, look out for one-way itineraries between Athens and Venice, which call at Katakolon, for Olympia, and Corfu. Ashore, Silversea focuses on immersive itineraries, often with a culinary theme, be it wine tasting or visits to olive-oil growers and cheese makers. The 728-passenger Silver Ray will sail on Greek itineraries after its launch in summer 2024. Why Cruise to Sicily With Celebrity Cruises

The island is dominated by the often snow-capped cone of Mount Etna, the coast studded with charming seaside villages and beaches. You'll visit extraordinary antiquities, experience delicious cuisine and flavorful local wines, and enjoy the warm climate along Italy's southernmost coast all on one journey. Sailing doesn’t come any more romantic than a voyage on one of Star Clippers’ stirring tall ships, exploring sun-drenched Greek islands under 36,000 sq ft of billowing sail. Star Flyer spends the summer in the Greek islands, carried by the wind to the Sporades. Location of Skopelos, as well as the Cyclades and, on voyages from Athens to Istanbul, the Dodecanese.

Give Mom exactly what she wants this Mother’s Day—to spend quality time with her family over a delicious dinner! GOODTIME III’s Mother’s Day Dinner Cruise is the perfect way to pamper mom and give her a memorable day that she’ll cherish forever. Gather the whole family together to enjoy a relaxing and memorable cruise. Mom will never forget cruising on the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie and seeing downtown Cleveland and the Flats like never before. Enjoy a delicious dinner buffet with all of her favorites and delightful live music to make her mother’s day dinner setting perfect. Sicily cruises bring you to historic ports like Messina, where you can wander the medieval streets, enjoy a cappuccino at an outdoor café, or explore the Duomo, an imposing and elegant cathedral built in the 12th century.

GOODTIME III offers a unique option in Cleveland, with a two-hour, narrated cruise along the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie. You’ll enjoy our Skipper’s Luncheon Buffet dockside, followed by a tour learning about the amazing history of the city and enjoy spectacular views of downtown Cleveland, the Flats, and all of the surrounding areas. We practice cruise style dining and you will be seated at tables with other passengers. Our group of grad students and faculty took a narrated afternoon cruise and loved it! The narrative is really interesting--it helped us understand what we were seeing, and it gave us a real appreciation for the city and its water. We enjoyed the route (especially the river) and saw so much we couldn't experience any other way.

We love spending our evenings in Sofia when the city is all lit up and looking especially charming. Reservations are recommended and can be made day of cruise based on availability. The majestic Mount Etna, located in eastern Sicily, towers 11,014 feet into the air. Etna is active, and you’ll often see it belching steam, but this doesn’t deter wine growers, who cultivate some of Italy’s finest wines on its fertile volcanic slopes. We also have articles for popular day trips from Sofia like Plovdiv and Buzludzha.

There is also The View which is on the 24th floor near NDK and La Terrazza di Serdica Panorama in the center, both of which offer delicious food and drinks. They’ll run you slightly more than your average dinner and drinks in Sofia, but it’s well worth it for the views. It’s surprisingly affordable (we paid 15 leva or about $8 USD per ticket) and extremely fun.

Goodtime III

Greek island itineraries focus on big-hitting ports including Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos and Katakolon, with cruises ranging from seven to ten nights. Most voyages incorporate other countries — for example, there’s a cruise that visits Rome and Malta as well as Greek ports, or an 11-night round-trip from Rome, heading through the Greek isles as far east as Istanbul. The GOODTIME III is the largest quadruple-deck, 1,000 passenger luxury ship in Cleveland and offers plenty of room for all passengers, who are not confined to their seats. When it launched in 2022 the 100-passenger Emerald Azzurra marked river line Emerald Cruises’ move into the world of ocean cruising.

There’s no better way to celebrate America’s birthday in Cleveland than aboard GOODTIME III’s Fourth of July Fireworks & Dancing Cruise! There’s nothing quite like seeing fireworks light up the sky from the water, followed by dancing the night away under the stars to all your favorite songs. Go back in time with GOODTIME III, as we present the Norm N. Nite Sock Hop Dance Cruise, on a Sunday night in August.

You’ll find lots of options to explore Greece, from one-week hops between Athens and Rome to an 18-day odyssey from Jerusalem to Istanbul. On board, dining is the line’s big selling point, with all speciality restaurants included in the price. The culinary theme is extended ashore with excursions that include visiting local markets for ingredients and learning to prepare them in an on-board cookery class and a foraging tour on Cephalonia. Family-owned and based in Athens, Variety Cruises offers a wide choice of small ship cruises with a focus on off-the-beaten-track itineraries.

We went to see the Georges Bizet opera Carmen and thoroughly enjoyed our fun night out on the town. Be sure to dress up just a bit to add to the fun, although it’s not a super fancy affair. The second deck features a partially enclosed area and bench seating on the open deck.
